The Rise of Geothermal Heating and Cooling System in the UAE

Geothermal Heating and Cooling

Geothermal heating and cooling HVAC systems have been in operation in the United Arab Emirates and other countries for more than 50 years. The year 2022 has brought a high demand for geothermal HVAC parts.

Instead of opposing nature, these systems work with it. They can provide heating and cooling without using fuel or producing greenhouse gases for a residential or commercial facility.

The most cost-effective, ecologically friendly, and energy-efficient space conditioning systems on the market are geothermal HVAC systems.

Geothermal HVAC: What Is It?

Heat exchange takes place at Earth temperature in geothermal HVAC and power systems. Although there are harsh climates in different parts of the country, subsurface temperatures are consistent.

High efficiency heat pumps are referred to as geothermal heat pumps. In order to heat and cool homes and buildings, these systems rely on heat transfers between the ground and the air. Direct use geothermal and deep and upgraded geothermal are two other types of geothermal systems.

In areas where volcanic or tectonic activity results in naturally heated groundwater, direct use geothermal systems are widespread. These systems pump hot water to be used either as it is or in heat exchangers to condition the indoor air.

How Does Geothermal Heating & Cooling Work?

The ground five feet below the surface stays at a consistent temperature throughout the year, regardless of whether it’s a scorching summer or a freezing winter.

The average temperature of the planet is greater in the winter and lower in the summer at this constant temperature.

This difference in temperature is used by geothermal systems to move heat from your house to the soil.

Working in Winter

A ground loop of subterranean pipes circulates water that absorbs heat from the ground and transfers it to an indoor heat pump. The heat is removed from the liquid by the heat pump, which then disperses it as warm air throughout the house.

The water is cycled once the heat has been extracted in order to continue absorbing heat from the earth. Since the heat is being extracted in this instance, the loop water is warmer when it enters the house than when it returns to the earth.

Working in Summer

Your home’s hot air is drawn into the internal heat pump, which removes the heat. This leaves behind chilly air that will be circulated as air conditioning through vents.

Through the ground loop, the heat that has been extracted from the air is reinjected into the earth. Since heat is rejected into the water in this situation, it is warmer when it leaves the house than when it returns.

Benefits of Geothermal Heating & Cooling system

  • Comfortable

You may expect consistent, even heating during the winter and superior humidity management during the summer thanks to the unit’s utilization of the earth’s relatively steady temperature as an energy source.

  • Safe and pristine

No fuel, no flame, no smells—just safe, dependable operation all year long.

  • Flexibility

The same heat pump machine can deliver hot water, heating, and central air conditioning.

It also offers economical water heating facilities.  Energy costs for heating water might be high. The high cost of water heating can be decreased by up to 65 percent with geothermal heat pump systems.
