R–1234yf Refrigerant is the air conditioning systems of modern car models, R-134a is replaced by the HFO refrigerant R-1234yf. Likewise with every HFO refrigerant.
Features and Benefits of R-1234yf Refrigerant
WESTRON is well-positioned to be the new generation refrigerant pioneer for automotive air conditioning applications thanks to its low GWP and high cooling efficiency. Westron (R-1234yf) the global standards for reduced GWP refrigerants are easily met by automobile. It provides the ideal synthesis of qualities and capabilities, including
- Excellent environmental properties
- Zero ozone depletion potential (ODP) and very low GWP
- Comparable thermodynamic to HFC-134a
- Similar energy efficiency and capacity to HFC-134a
WESTRON R-1234yf is ASHRAE safety classification A2L for slightly flammable. It burns slowly (1.5 cm/sec) and is challenging to ignite. Independent laboratories have tested it for toxicity and determined that it has a similar level to HFC-134a. The chemistry is what makes a difference. The hydrofluoroolefin (HFO) refrigerant known as Westron (R-1234yf) has the same chemical components as HFO but one double bond between one pair of the carbon atoms. Westron R-1234yf® Refrigerant is a long-lasting, eco-friendly refrigerant that is also non-toxic, non-flammable, non-ozone depleting, and energy-efficient.
